I have spyware / popups even after I downloaded the blockers. What should I do?

My new laptop started moving really slow and having a ton of popup's. So I downloaded some program that's suppose to block them. But I am still getting the popup's and my laptop is still moving really slow. What should I do? Can I fix this problem myself?

if your useing yahoo as your internet provider, download the toolbar, it comes with ant - spy, blocker, and if your useing internet explorer it to has pop up blocker

Blocking new spyware infections doesn't affect the spyware that's already on your computer. I suggest downloading Spybot S&D - safer - networking.org It's a free program that will scan your computer for any spyware on your hard drive and tell you the different security risks of each one found. I have found it to be very good at it's job, because it constantly updates it's database with the newest collection of spyware risks found, so it's very reliable in capturing every spyware infection out there. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have Vista, MAKE SURE you run the program as administrator right c, Run as Administrator. I found out that this is required the hard way, after I waited an hour or more for it to scan and find out that I can not delete the spyware infections unless I run Spybot as admin. And when I exit out and run it as admin, I have to scan my whole computer AGAIN to delete the infections. So, save an hour of your time and do not FORGET to run the program as administrator. You need to have a good anti spy software not just anyone. Also, you need to update the anti spy software regularly to keep it up to date. You can install Yahoo! Toolbar with anti spy on. Get it from downloads. yahoo.com / . Once you c the anti spy on, it scans your computer and cleans spywares on your computer. You can also go to download.com to look for other anti spy softwares. For pop up, most new internet browsers have built in feature to block them. Update your internet browser
download spybot search and destroy, also ad - aware, if that doesnt work try malwarebytes and run it in safe mode
