I need a really good Virus and Spyware Program?

Can anyone recommend a VERY GOOD virus program and a spyware program? I don't mind if it costs money, but the one I have Norton finds nothing, even though I knew for a fact I had a virus. Can anyone recommend a really good one, that they know is not a virus itself?

Norton and McAfee may be the most popular, but fail in quality of finding viruses as you have seen. i use norton it is very good. if norton says you don't have anything then most likely you don't have anything. no one virus scanner can find all virus's. its always good practice to scan your computer using a online service but remembering to keep in mind they will sometimes say your infected when your not just so they can trick the inexperienced user into buying there product. i still say norton is the best. as you stated norton doesn't fnd anything when infact you know you HAD a virus. meaning you don't have a virus but had a virus. probably quarenteed it, so you never truly got infected, why it says you don't have a virus. you can check the activity log and see if its in quarentee
